Lema Barazi is a litigation partner at Lloyd & Mousilli and regularly advises business clients on a wide range of litigation issues, from pre-litigation negotiation through trial. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Business Law and Constitutional Law, to university students.

Previously, Ms. Barazi was an associate attorney at the Howard Nations Law Firm and her civil trial practice focused on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation, individual catastrophic injury and wrongful death, and complex commercial litigation. Prior to her work there, Ms. Barazi was an associate attorney at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, LLP, in Houston, Texas, where she was a member of the Medical Malpractice Department and her practice focused on the defense of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other healthcare and long-term care professionals and organizations.

Before working as a defense attorney, Ms. Barazi practiced civil trial litigation as an associate attorney at Ortiz & Millin, LP, in Hidalgo County, Texas. Her practice focused primarily on complex commercial litigation and personal injury litigation in both state and federal courts.

Before practicing civil law, Ms. Barazi served as an Assistant District Attorney and prosecuted felony cases. She has also previously clerked for the Honorable Judge Vanessa Gilmore of the United States District Court in Houston, Texas, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, and the Harris County District Attorney’s office, where she worked on the widely followed Andrea Yates case.

This year Ms. Barazi was named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Super Lawyers magazine and the Texas Monthly magazine. In 2018 and 2019, she was selected by The National Trial Lawyers for inclusion into its “Top 40 Under 40” list, an honor awarded to a premier group of trial lawyers under the age of 40 from each state for their superior skills and qualifications in the field. In 2016, Ms. Barazi was named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers magazine and the Texas Monthly magazine. In 2002, she was awarded The University of Houston’s Best Writer of the Year. She is also a certified mediator.
