Throughout his career, Dr. Al-Omari has worked in various capacities in the fields of image processing, computer vision, computer algorithms, and artificial intelligence. He has taught computer science and engineering part-time at prestigious institutions in the Bay Area, including UC BerkeleyExtension, UC Santa Cruz, San Jose State University, Santa Clara University, and UC Santa Cruz Extension.
Dr. Al-Omari’s academic journey also led him back to Jordan, where he taught at the University of Jordan, Applied Science University, and Amman ArabUniversity. He later moved to Riyadh to lead the image processing group atKACST, where he filed with his team tens of international patents. While at KACST, he taught computer engineering at King Saud University. Returning to Jordan, he contributed to projects for ESCWA, USAID, and OASIS500 accelerator in evaluating and helping the hosted startup companies before resettling in Silicon Valley.
Currently, Dr. Al-Omari is an adjunct faculty member at Mission College andDe Anza College, specializing in computer science and AI. He holds 52 patents granted by USPTO, EPO, JPO, China PO (CNIPA), and GCC PO. Dr. Al-Omari is also a frequent guest on Arabic news networks in the Middle East, discussing various topics and advancements in AI.
